VINCI UK Foundation awards £10,000 to Arts4Wellbeing

The Welsh branch of Arts4Wellbeing – a charity that provides arts and crafts sessions to help alleviate social exclusion – has received funding from the VINCI UK Foundation to increase the number of pop-up studios in rural South Wales.

VINCI UK Foundation has granted £10,000 to Arts4Wellbeing, a charity that provides arts and crafts sessions for people of all ages and abilities, allowing them to connect, express their creativity and increase their confidence and wellbeing. This, in turn, helps to alleviate social exclusion and strengthen communities. The grant from the VINCI UK Foundation was gifted to the Tivyside branch of the charity and will enable it to buy a van, which will help with the set-up of pop-up studios in rural areas across South Wales.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the VINCI UK Foundation for choosing our project for this award, it will be transformational for our practice and we very much look forward to sharing future projects with our mentor and the Foundation on a regular basis, demonstrating how the work is quite literally transforming lives,” says Sara Wentworth, Director at Arts4Wellbeing.

Crafting something special

Something that sets the VINCI UK Foundation apart from other funding providers is that it also provides VINCI sponsors – employees, from apprentices to senior management – to provide practical support to organisations and projects.

Working closely with Arts4Wellbeing is Janette Jenkins, Senior Administrator at Actemium Birmingham Automotive, part of VINCI Energies UK & RoI. Janette has worked to get the funding approved and will continue to support Arts4Wellbeing throughout the year, volunteering to help run its activities.

“I am really pleased to be a sponsor for Arts4Wellbeing,” says Janette. “Sara [Wentworth] and Mike [Hotson] do a fantastic job helping people of all ages and disabilities through various forms of art, and the funding from the Foundation will make a huge difference to their daily lives. I look forward to visiting and assisting in various projects that they will run over the coming year.”
