My business is an incredible company to work for because it combines the agility of smaller teams with the strength of a large international group.   There is a real sense that people’s ideas matter and that we can genuinely influence how the business evolves.

Can you give us an example of a time where you have been supported to achieve your best in your career while with us?

A clear example of support is how my manager has consistently empowered me to be recognised as the environmental contact for our UK & RoI Pole. From early on, I was trusted to represent the environmental agenda, lead discussions with BUs and SHEQ teams and be the main point of contact on key topics such as reporting, data quality and green initiatives. My manager actively supports this visibility, encourages me to speak up and reinforces my role with senior stakeholders, which has helped build my credibility and confidence and allowed me to deliver greater impact.

VEUK is an organisation made up of incredible teams both large and small. Tell us about your incredible team and what it’s like to work with them…

Thanks to my role, I have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of teams. I work closely with environmental correspondents from other poles across our Europe North West division, which allows me to meet incredible people, learn from different cultures, and share best practices. I also work alongside the UK & RoI SHEQ and Environmental network, a group of passionate, knowledgeable and supportive people who genuinely care about what they do and bring diverse technical, operational and strategic perspectives. Finally, I collaborate with colleagues from my own Head Office a bit less day to day, but I really enjoy spending time together in the office, which helps build strong relationships and a great working atmosphere.

At VEUK and our associated businesses, we are transforming our world through the ‘digital and energy revolutions’. Please tell us how your (or your teams) contribution is helping us to achieve that goal…

My role directly impacts how we deliver our digital and energy revolutions in a sustainable way. I support our teams in working more sustainably by improving how environmental data is collected, analysed and used. By working with our reporting tools and collaborating closely with operational teams, we turn data into meaningful insights. This enables better-informed decision-making and allows us to embed sustainability into everyday decisions.

I am proud of what I do because my work connects daily operational decisions with long-term environmental impact. I have the opportunity to support teams across the business, turn data into action and contribute to solutions that are both practical and sustainable. Being able to contribute to a positive change, while learning continuously from others, makes my work both rewarding and purposeful. I truly feel like I can have a positive impact for our business and our partners.
