Hi Liam, can you finish this sentence: My business is an incredible company to work for because…
it provides a dynamic and supportive environment where I can continuously learn and grow, gaining hands-on experience and preparing for more advanced roles within the industry. Through my graduate scheme, I gain exposure to different sections of the business, enhancing my skills and understanding of industrial automation. Actemium Automation Nottingham values innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration, making it an exciting place to develop my career.
Give us an example of a time where you have been supported to achieve your best in your career while with us?
Within the first year working for Actemium Automation Nottingham, I was given the excellent opportunity to work within Actemium Automation Teesside’s office and gain experience in a completely different side of Industrial Automation than what Nottingham offers, working with DCS systems rather than PLC systems.
Through the Graduate EAP Scheme, I have been sent on lots of training programs to further my career growth and I have met lots of friendly faces throughout Vinci Energies UK.
At the end of 2024, I had multiple opportunities to visit sites alongside a senior engineer, where we implemented the code I had developed and I gained hands-on experience in commissioning sections of a project, with their guidance and expertise; This experience was invaluable in developing my confidence and expanding my capabilities in real-world automation projects.
VINCI Energies UK & RoI is an organisation made up of incredible teams both large and small. Tell us about your incredible team and what it’s like to work with them?
My team are an intelligent and hard-working group of individuals who are extremely fun and motivating to work with; watching their work ethic inspires me to be more like them each day. They have welcomed me from joining them as a Graduate Engineer with no hands-on experience and are assisting with my growth to become a great Control Systems Engineer.
At VINCI Energies UK & RoI and our associated businesses, we are transforming our world through the ‘digital and energy revolutions’. Please tell us how your (or your teams) contribution is helping us to achieve that goal…
As an integrator, we support and advise our customers through the energy transition. To achieve this, we embarked on a journey some time ago to diversify our business and now provide expertise, services and solutions with an environmental eye. We pride ourselves in purchasing through sustainable and renewable suppliers.
Through innovation and teamwork, we are actively contributing to VINCI Energies’ vision of shaping the future through the digital and energy revolutions.
In 50-100 words, please tell us why you are proud to do what you do…
I am proud to be a Graduate Control Systems Engineer working with my team at Actemium Automation Nottingham. It makes me feel extremely proud to see our projects come to life, especially having participated in all stages of a project’s lifecycle through to completion – from hardware design, software development, panel building and commissioning.
We support each other, collaborate effectively, and make every challenge feel more manageable and rewarding, while learning valuable insights and skills from senior members.
