The VINCI UK Foundation has donated £6,800 to In The Making CIC to foster the growth the success of emerging young artists.
Based in London, In The Making will use the funding to invest in new IT equipment and create a portable studio for live performances and video editing. Founded in 2017, the organisation has grown significantly and is now ready for its next chapter — taking its acclaimed development programme on the road.
In The Making (ITM) runs a 12-month artist development programme supporting young creatives from underrepresented backgrounds who face barriers to entering the music industry. Through hands-on experience and targeted training – including live performance, studio sessions, and industry workshops – ITM helps participants gain essential skills and professional insight.
Led by award-winning producer Cassell and supported by partners such as PPL and The Ivors Academy, ITM provides tailored mentorship from accomplished professionals who help artists refine their craft, build resilience, and navigate the industry with confidence. Over the course of the year, each participant benefits from personalised coaching, networking opportunities, and real-world exposure that empower them to overcome challenges and thrive.
Committed to inclusivity and wellbeing, ITM also offers access to an informal educator, dedicated mentors, and a drug awareness worker – supporting participants’ holistic growth and mental health.
Bringing together artists from diverse cultures, genders, and backgrounds, many working with professional producers for the first time – ITM fosters a collaborative community where creativity, learning, and opportunity flourish. Over the years, the programme has become a cornerstone of the local music scene, drawing increasing support and recognition.
This November, ITM expands to Devon, strengthening its focus on artist development, wellbeing, and togetherness. Each year culminates in a celebratory showcase event, where families, industry professionals, and supporters come together to celebrate the artists’ journeys and achievements.
“The support from the VINCI UK Foundation has been invaluable. Their contribution helped to support our ITM Live Autumn Tour and Inside Track artist development programme. Allowing us to give emerging artists a fully professional experience. It’s the kind of backing that directly empowers young talent to take the next step in their creative careers”, says Cassell The Beatmaker, Founder, In The Making (ITM).
In addition to the financial contribution, In The Making CIC will receive the support of a VINCI UK Foundation Sponsor, Ruth Ottley, Pension and Company Secretary Administrator for VINCI Energies UK & ROI.
“It has been a real eye opener for me as a sponsor to see the innovation within this project. Many youngsters dream of being a musician but very few have the platform where to grow their talents. The ITM team support them in this journey, whilst providing real opportunities along with mentors who provide mental health wellbeing. My role as a sponsor has been to offer an insight into a different industry and how we operate, giving ideas of how to obtain future funding and different ways to market their Company.” Says Ruth Ottley, Pension and Company Secretary Administrator for VINCI Energies UK & ROI.
