Coming to Omexom in 2013 from a site construction background in transmission, I joined as a transmission site supervisor, I have always looked for that next challenge and to further my career. Knowing that I would like to progress into the management side of the business, this transition was made possible with the help, support, guidance of mentor’s and colleagues and regular check ins to ensure my progress to a Project Manager, ensuring I have the right skill set to fulfill my role and future progress.

VEUK is an organisation made up of Incredible Teams both large and small. Tell us about your Incredible Team and what it’s like to work with them.

Omexom Transmission is divided North & South and I have had the pleasure to work with both teams during my time. I am currently working from our Coventry office and like in the North there is a strong emphasis on teamwork from everyone, which shows in our delivery. Everyone goes above and beyond to provide support where required and my managers take the time to regularly check in to ensure I have everything I need. The team have regular calls to discuss work across the business unit and where possible meet socially which strengthens the team ethic.

At VEUK and our associated Businesses, we are ‘Transforming our World Through the Digital and Energy Revolutions’. Is there anything you and your team are doing locally to achieve that goal?

Our business unit continually supports our clients to adapt their networks to allow for the delivery of renewable energy and cope with the fluctuating demands. This includes tying in new solar and wind farm developments to the existing network and the installation of Smart Valve technology to maximise the transfer capacity.

Finally, can you tell us in a few words why you are proud to do what you do?

I am part of a growing business unit which is aiming high to become one of the market leaders in our sector, providing the required quality, expertise and safety standards our clients expect. We are also part of many business units which collaboratively offer the client a turnkey option. In my role I have the opportunity to support and mentor team members to help them achieve their career goals replicating the huge support I have received from Omexom.
