VINCI Energies UK and RoI acquire Meldrum Ltd

VINCI Energies UK & RoI strengthens Nuclear offer with acquisition of UK Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering specialist.

The acquisition, finalised on Wednesday 19th April, enhances the services offered by VINCI Energies’ industrial engineering brand Actemium UK and will enable it to greatly expand its UK nuclear activity, working on some of the most complex and important nuclear sites in the world.

Meldrum is a specialised business with significant nuclear experience and a highly qualified workforce. It is one of only a select few small to medium electrical engineering companies in the UK able to service major nuclear sites.

Chris Hutchinson, Director of Actemium at VINCI Energies UK and RoI says: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Meldrum into VINCI Energies. Our business model consisting of autonomous, specialised business units is perfectly suited to enable Meldrum to further increase their success in the nuclear sector while complementing our own nuclear offering. This strengthens even more our market presence and ability to respond to the rapidly growing needs of the UK market and is a significant milestone for both companies.”

Steven Holliday, Managing Director at Meldrum Ltd. says: “Partnering with Actemium’s industrial engineering experts will help us enhance the offer to our customers in the nuclear sector and allow us to shift our growth plans up a gear. As well as expanding our own client offerings, we’ll be able to provide new opportunities across VINCI Energies’ global customer base using our wealth of nuclear experience and know-how.”

Established in 2005, Meldrum provides electrical and instrumentation engineering services, predominantly within the industrial sector. It partners with companies working at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear sector to provide services including   electrical installation, safety and security enhancement, testing, automation services and maintenance.

Actemium is VINCI Energies’ industrial engineering brand. Its multi-technical approach provides a unique and complete range of services in the nuclear sector. The company’s technical expertise allows it to design, build, maintain and operate sensitive facilities, renovate and revise non-compliant facilities, and handle facilities’ dismantling and decommissioning at the end of their working life.
